TRANSPORTATION

How do I know which bus my child rides?

The transportation office staff will designate the safest school bus stop for your child based on your address in Aeries. Your child may only ride the bus to which they have been assigned. Riding an unassigned bus, boarding or leaving a bus at an unassigned stop is prohibited and may result in disciplinary. action. Students should be at the bus stop five (5) minutes prior to the bus stop pick up time.

Can my child leave the bus after entering the bus at the school site or at a bus stop?

Once a student has boarded the bus, the student may not leave the bus unless escorted by a school official at the school site or a parent/guardian at the bus stop.

What if my child arrives late the bus stop after the bus has departed from the bus stop?

For the safety of all students and to avoid children chasing after a moving, bus, once a school bus has departed and pulled away from the curb, at either the school site or bus stop, the driver is not permitted to stop the bus to board late students.

What should my child do when the bus does not arrive at the scheduled pick up time?

If you are resonably sure that the delay is not due to weather or traffic conditions, please allow at least 10 minutes before calling our dispatch line at 951-304-1607. Delays can happen due to weather and/or traffic conditions; road closures, construction and student loading/unloading at previous scheduled bus stops or school sites. Our dispatch team will send out an Aeries message notifying parents/students of delays as soon as possible to keep parents and students updated of any delays. We will also notifiy the school site attendance office of any delays so your child is not marked tardy.

Can my kindergarten child exit the bus  unattended at the school site or bus stop?

For the safety of our kindergarten riders, we require that a parent or designee meet our kindergarten riders at the bus stop. The designee can be an older sibling, neighbor, or relative designated by the parent. The parent can contact our dispatch team verbally and in writing of any last minute changes to the designee. At the school site, an aide or office staff is required to meet the bus and escort the kindergarten student to their classroom and/or teacher.

What if my child leaves an item on the bus?

If a driver finds a lost item on the bus, the driver will attempt to return the item to the student or to the school by the next day. WE DO NOT HAVE A LOST AND FOUND and therefore do not keep items at our transportation office.
